A Remarkable Journey from Textbooks to Real Science
At Jeevith PU College, Yelahanka, we believe that science is best understood when students experience it beyond the classroom.
On 25 August 2026, our Biology students had the privilege of visiting the Brain Museum at NIMHANS, Bengaluru. The visit transformed textbook concepts into a memorable, real-world learning experience.
One of the most extraordinary moments was the opportunity, with the required permission and expert guidance, to hold and feel a preserved human brain and observe human anatomical specimens. For students aspiring to become doctors, this was a rare and deeply meaningful experience.
What Did Our Students Learn?
- Understand the structure and functions of the human brain through real specimens.
- Relate their NCERT Biology concepts to actual human anatomy.
- Develop greater interest in neuroscience, medicine and healthcare.
- Understand the importance of the brain and nervous system in human life.
- Improve their observation, questioning and scientific thinking skills.
- Appreciate the importance of medical research and preservation of human specimens.
- Gain a realistic glimpse into the world of doctors, medical professionals and researchers.
- Develop greater motivation and purpose towards their NEET and future medical aspirations.
The opportunity was especially valuable because we had waited for more than six months to obtain the necessary permission. We sincerely thank NIMHANS, the Brain Museum team and the concerned authorities for making this experience possible.
The visit reminded our students that Biology is not merely a subject to be studied for examinations—it is a gateway to understanding life, the human body and the medical profession.
At Jeevith PU College, we strive to provide students with opportunities that go beyond conventional classroom learning and connect education with real-world scientific experiences.
For many of our students, the memory of holding a real human brain will remain long after the textbook chapter is completed.
